A little bit about me and this journey that I am on.
I have been interested in finding work extra work for quite a few years. I managed to find some mystery shopping, but there were never a lot of shops available in my city. I think there are likely more shoppers here than there are jobs, as I was never able to get too many.
I had also done a variety of paid to clicks a few years ago. I did get some payouts, but other ones seemed to have disappeared once you hit payout level.
After that I pretty much gave up, but still kept my eyes out a little bit. I found a few small opportunities out there, but nothing that was lucrative or worth more than a few dollars or my time.
I got into direct sales a few years ago, and ended up finding a large message board all about working at home and many of the opportunities out there. Eventually I wandered into the area for those that write at home and I started to read and learn. I had already done some writing for my team newsletters, and decided to give it a try and see if I could make some money at it.
In 2010, I decided to take it more serious and find clients and try to actually make some money at it. I set a goal of 2K for the year and headed off to see what I could find. I did manage to find a few private clients through freelance sites, but these were piddly amounts and quickly left most of them. I also found Swagbucks where you search and earn points which convert into various gift certificates. Swagbucks nets me between $5 and $10 a month in Amazon gift cards. I also have some survey sites and click sites that I am able to earn through.
Overall, I made my 2K goal with some room to spare. My goal for 2011 is to make 3k through my various enterprises. I am hoping to do less work for private clients and increasing what I do with content mills which pay residual income. I am still learning the ins and outs but as I get better my residuals should also increase. I also want to experiment with passive income such as Adsense and Amazon affiliates and find other affiliate products that I can promote.
